Selected PETs protest delay in appointments
Musheerabad: Selected physical education teachers in gurukuls and TRTs and members of Telangana unemployed private physical education teachers association staged protest at Dharna Chowk on Wednesday, condemning the delay of appointment of selected teachers. On this occasion, national president of BC welfare association R Krishnaiah extended his support to them.
Speaking on the occasion, Krishnaiah accused the state government and TPSC of lacking commitment towards unemployed youth. TPSC had issued several notifications to recruit youth, but all are kept pending due to court cases against them. Stating that even small countries are faring well in international sports competitions, he questioned how a big country like India secure medals in Olympics and other international competitions if governments fail to appoint physical education teachers in schools.
The association members demanded recruitment of 417 PETs and around 10,500 VTs and threatened to seize TPSC office if it is not done before December end. Even after impleading in the related case, there is no response from TPSC, they alleged. They demanded government to ensure that TPSC takes necessary actions to address the issue. TJAC spokesperson Venkat Reddy, vice president of BC welfare association Gujja Krishna, Neelam Venkatesh, Swapna, Priya, Bhargavi, Saritha, Jyothi Janardhan, Praveen and others participated in the protest.
