CRPF conducts parade for annual inspection
Chandrayangutta: A colourful ceremonial parade was conducted on the occasion of annual inspection of 2 Signal Battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). It was inspected by DIG Rajesh Kumar and organised by 2 Signal Range at its Chandrayangutta campus in Hyderabad on Thursday. According to officials, the 2 Signal Battalion, in the year 1968, CRPF started catering to the communication requirements of CRPF units and establishments located in entire Southern region of the country, besides hardcore Naxal affected areas of Maharastra, Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
The unit played a significant role during recently-held Assembly elections in Telangana by providing flawless communication arrangements to the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) troops and to State Armed Police (SAP) deployed in Telangana for the smooth conduct of elections. The unit is commanded by Amit Kumar Singh, a gallantry medal awardee since 2016, under whose guidance the unit achieved greater heights of providing uninterrupted communication arrangements not only during various states Assembly elections, but also during law and order problems. The unit also provided communications during the devastating deIuge flood in Kerala. The annual inspection of 2 Signal Battalion will be done for two days in which performance and achievements, including indigenously innovated gadgets by the unit technical team will be judged by the inspecting officer.
