Mahmood Ali takes charge as Home Minister

Hyderabad : The lone Minister in Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s cabinet Mohd Mahmood Ali took charge as Home Minister in his chambers at the Secretariat on Thursday. Former Home minister N Narasimha Reddy and State DGP M Mahendar Reddy and other top officials greeted the Minister. Mahmood Ali was Deputy Chief Minster and Revenue Minister in the previous 

K Chandrashekar Rao’s government. Speaking to media, the Home Minister said that he will accord top priority to the maintenance of law and order and reduce the crime rate further in the future. State police already received accolades at national and international level for its efficiency and technological expertise in cracking the crimes in a short time, he added.  

Thanking Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for giving him opportunity to serve the State in the capacity of Minister for another term, Mahmood Ali said that Telangana is the lone State in the country earmarked Rs 2,000 crore annual budget for the welfare of minorities alone. The substantial increase in the budget helped improve socio and economic status of the minorities in the last four years, he added.
