Success of officers depends on people-related skills, says MD TSFDC Dr Ashok Kumar Jain
Hyderabad: The Indian Economic Service officers successfully completed ‘Induction Training Programme’ at Dr MCR HRD Institute. The Induction Training Programme, which commenced on December 17 and concluded on December 21, was sponsored by Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India. The ‘Induction Training Programme’ was attended by officers from Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Ministry of Coal, Ministry of Statistics & Program Implementation, Labour Bureau, and Department of Land Resources.
Dr Ashok Kumar Jain, Vice-Chairman & Managing Director, Telangana State Forest Development Corporation (TSFDC), who was the chief guest at the valedictory function, gave away participation certificates to the officers. In his interaction with the officers, Dr Ashok Kumar Jain said that the ‘Induction Training Programme’, whose focus was on people-related skills, was the pressing need of the hour. He said that while technical and decision making skills were important in their own right, the ultimate success of officers depends on the nature and quality of their people-related skills, such as impact making communication, inspiring leadership, effective change management, etc. “The jobs of officers in government sector bring in their wake multiple stresses and strains. The ‘Induction Training Programme’, which had sessions on stress management, will empower the officers to overcome the stress and thereby improve their efficiency in their jobs”, he added.
B P Acharya, Special Chief Secretary & DG, Dr MCR HRD Institute said that in the present-day fast-changing work scenario, continuous training of employees was the need of the hour to keep their skill sets current and up-to-date. He called upon the officers to make use of the e-Learning modules, designed by Department of Personnel & Training, Government of India, in order to enhance soft skills as well as domain-specific skills of employees in different departments of government, across the country.“The e-Learning modules will be greatly instrumental in imparting high-quality training to thousands of employees at the lowest cost”, he added.
