Swacch Bharat awareness programme held
Karimnagar: Women are playing a key role taking forward Swachh Bharat Mission, said Project Director of MEMPA Pavan Kumar here on Friday. He was attending as a chief guest at the Awareness programme held on Swachh Bharat organised under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in association with Field Outreach Bureau at Butti Rajuram colony here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Pavan Kumar said the city surroundings can be kept clean and neat if the household waste is collected and recycled in a scientific manner.
Assistant Director of the Field Outreach Bureau Haribabu said as much as 1.4 lakh tons of waste is generated everyday across the nation out of which at least 50 per cent of it is not recycled.
The main aim of Swachh Bharat Mission is to prevent the usage of plastic. Three methods such as reducing the usage, recycling and reusing would help in minimising the usage of plastics along with encouraging the people to use paper in a proper way. It is to remember that every year Rs 13,000 crore worth of paper is imported from other countries by India.
Carporators Kalyani, Venkatamma, Additional Commissioner of MEPMA Rajarapu Kumar, NYK Coordinators Ravindra, Ravindra Reddy were present along with Anganwadi teachers.
