Konda Murali resigns from MLC post

Hyderabad: Telangana Congress leader Konda Murali on Saturday resigned from the post of Member of Legislative Council (MLC). Konda Murali, who had recently switched from the TRS to the Congress met Council Chairman K Swamy Goud and submitted his resignation letter and the Chairman accepted it immediately. Murali was accompanied by his wife Konda Surekha during his meeting with the Chairman.

Speaking to media persons later, Murali said that he had resigned from the MLC post as to uphold his faith in value-based politics. He said posts were not important in politics if one truly believes in serving the people. He pointed out that he was the first MLC who was elected unanimously in the entire State.  

Murali also accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of trying to decimate the Opposition by luring their representatives into the TRS fold. His wife Surekha also alleged that the TRS has won the recent Assembly elections by misusing power and spending crore of rupees.
