Update: 2018-12-25 05:30 IST

Kapra: Though the elections are over, officials are still not focussing on solving civic problems that have been pending for months together. Most of the roads in Kapra Circle were dug out before the elections. Works of laying drainage pipelines were completed long back at GR Reddy Nagar in AS Rao Nagar division, but due to heaps of sand left on the road, commuters have been facing problems. People complain that there are potholes on roads in the colonies of Bhagath Nagar and BJR Colony. They said that they face hardships with stagnation of water in the potholes.

Drainage overflows

Poor maintenance of underground drainages is leading to overflow of murky water on the roads. Mosquitoes and flies have been increasing because of the stagnant waters, the resident of the colonies said. The residents also complain that though there is an air-tech machine available at Circle Office, nobody is available from sanitation wing to utilise it.

Stray dogs and Mosquitoes

The rampant increase of stray dogs in Kapra, Cherlapally, GR Reddy Nagar, Jammigadda, Kushaiguda, Saibaba Nagar, Mallapur and Nacharam under Kapra Circle, is also a great concern to people. They say that the GHMC workers have stopped visiting the areas to catch them. They said that they urge the officials to focus on solving civic issues. Kapra Assistant Engineer Santosh said that they would remove the heaps of sand left on the roads. AS Rao nagar division Corporator Pavani Reddy assured that removal work would be completed within three days. She also assured to raise the issue of stray dogs at council meeting.
