Pedestrians safety at stake with more vehicles

Update: 2018-12-29 05:30 IST

Karimnagar: The roads in Karimnagar have turned unfriendly to pedestrian with the enormous increase of number of vehicles on the road. The condition of old-aged, children and women has become more worse with the vehicles moving at high speed and without following traffic rules.

No Traffic lights: The removal of traffic lights and creating new roundabouts is beneficial to drivers of various vehicles. Bus stand, Kaman junction, Telangana junction, R&B junction, court junction, Mancherial junction, forest office junction are few of the spots, where vehicles flow will be more.

The removal of traffic lights in Jagtial, Sircilla, Metpally, Husnabad and Jammikunta gives more confidence and freedom to the drivers thus creating troubles to the pedestrians.

Highways: The plight of the pedestrians in the undivided Karimnagar, especially in Sultanabad and Peddapalli is worst. Rajiv Gandhi Highway passing through Peddapalli could be quoted as widely responsible for many accidents.

According to the norms, a bridge has to be constructed wherever national highway road passes through a city or town. But this rule was not followed in several places in the undivided Karimnagar like Sultanabad and Peddapalli. The pedestrians are finding this situation as a problematic.
