TRS scouting for party office land in Delhi

Update: 2018-12-29 05:30 IST

Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) is all set to have its office at the nation's capital New Delhi, which is being seen as an indication that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao would be pursuing his ambition of forming a federal front to serve as an alternative to the BJP and the Congress.

Chandrashekar Rao on Friday asked his party leaders, including MPs to identify suitable land for locating party office at the nation's capital. The TRS president, during his recent visit to Delhi, visited a few government sites in Delhi for location of the party office. According to the party leaders, the chief minister is likely to lay foundation stone after Sankranti festival. He is keen that the construction should be completed at least three months ahead of Lok Sabha elections.

According to a TRS leader, as per the rules, the TRS is likely to get about 1,000 sq. yards of land for the party office in Delhi.  According to sources, along with the MPs, Vastu expert Suddala Sudhakar Teja would also take a look at the places and suggest plans as per Vastu. Sudhakar Teja had earlier suggested Vastu changes at Telangana Bhavan, the party office in Hyderabad. Sudhakar Teja is the official Vastu consultant in Roads and Buildings department. The TRS chief had made his plans clear as he wants to have a federal front with non-Congress and non-BJP parties.

“Our party president wants TRS to become an invincible force. As he would be busy with the federal front at national level, he would have to visit Delhi and a party office would help the leaders to chalk out strategies,” said the TRS leader. The chief minister has already declared that he would form a consortium of non-BJP and non-Congress parties to craft a federal coalition at the national level to press for devolution of more powers to the states from the Centre.

Chandrashekar Rao, heady with landslide victory in the recent elections to Telangana Assembly in which he cornered 88 of the 119 seats, is now eyeing capturing all but one of the 17 Lok Sabha seats.  He has left Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat for his trusted friend Asaduddin Owaisi.
