Rajendranagar: With an objective to lend an ear to people’s grievances, the MIM corporator of Shastripuram, Mohammed Misbahuddin, resumed his unique programme, ‘Aap ki Dehleej’ in all the key localities of the constituency. With a motto to establish contacts with locals and to pay heed to their complaints, the interactive programme started some four months ago. Upon receiving a good response, Misbahuddin decided to continue the programme within days after the December elections.

Speaking to The Hans India, he said that the inspiration for the idea came from the instructions of AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, who had asked all the public representatives to maintain strong bond with locals by listening and addressing to their grievances. As part of the interactive programme, the corporator meets with the locals and being an engineer himself, he tries to understand the basic civic problems faced by the residents.

“The program began about four months back, but due to the election code, it was held up and now that the elections are over, the program is resumed. My aim is to reach out the people and listen to their grievances and try to resolve the issues like water, drainage, proper roads and garbage. Each time I visit, I take note of the problems and solve them as soon as possible,” Misbahuddin said.

The corporator said that his aim is to improve the civic conditions in the Shastripuram division, especially in the localities like Hassan Nagar, Shastripuram, Kings Colony, Mahmood Nagar, Vattepally and all areas falling under the division. “Many of the works were completed through the ‘Aap ki Dehleej’ initiative. During interaction with locals, if the residents of area complained about any minor or a major issue, it will be taken up with the officials to get them resolved, getting the support of the leadership,” said Misbahuddin.

Through the program, he said, the leadership of the party is aiming to get connected with all the residents. Any resident who has issues can approach the local public representative without any hesitation and may contact the local corporator for problem resolution. “As part of the initiative, I, along with GHMC officials like deputy engineer and assistant engineer, conduct regular inspection in every area and try to find out the issue and take a note of them. Since last week, most works that were sanctioned in Shastripuram area were completed. On Sunday, we have started in Hassan Nagar area to take a note of issues related to the drainage, water, and road development and promised the locals that the work would be completed soon,” he added.
