Ikebana exhibition stealing hearts in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Secretary of Telangana Tourism and Culture department Burra Venkatesham, along with Major General Srinivas Rao, inaugurated the exhibition ‘Roots and Shoots’ organised by Ikebana International Hyderabad chapter here at ITC Kakatiya Hotel on Sunday. Burra Venkatesham and Major General Srinivas Rao, the General Officer Commanding of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states, visited the artistically arranged flower art exhibited at the show. Rao said that such exhibitions would help the states to attract foreign tourists. 

Burra Venkatesham congratulated Hyderabad chapter of Ikebana International for organising flower shows in Telangana. He said that the members of the Chapter also participated in Bathukamma celebrations organised by the state government. The Tourism Secretary said that the Ikebana and Telangana’s Bathukamma festival have similarities and are celebrated with the same spirit of uniting with the nature. He also congratulated the efforts of Hyderabad Chapter of Ikebana for promoting Bathukamma festival at international level. These flower shows the capability to attract foreign visitors, he opined.
