Won’t take oath in presence of pro-tem Speaker from MIM, says Raja Singh

Hyderabad: BJP MLA-elect T Raja Singh here on Sunday said that he will not take the oath because AIMIM legislator Mumtaz Ahmed Khan would be acting as pro-tem Speaker. He said that AIMIM insulted Hindus and refused to sing Vandemataram. The newly elected MLAs would be taking oath on January 17, the first day of Assembly sessions

In a video message on his Facebook page, the BJP MLA-elect found fault with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for appointing the MIM MLA as pro-tem Speaker. Raja Singh said he would not go to Assembly because the MIM leader would be in the Speaker’s Chair.

“I don’t want to take the oath to be administered by a leader of a party which talks of killing Hindus by waging war, which does not sing Vandemataram and does not say Bharat Mata ki Jai. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has taken his decision and now I have taken my decision.

I will talk to the legal experts and take the next step. If you change your decision, a good message will go to the Telangana people,” said Raja Singh, who won from Goshamahal Assembly constituency defeating TRS candidate Prem Singh Rathore.
