Uttam, Khuntia iron legs for Congress: Sarve

Update: 2019-01-08 05:30 IST

Hyderabad: Suspended Congress leader Sarve Satyanarayana on Monday referred to Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy and party In-charge R C Khuntia as ‘iron legs’ for the party and alleged that both were trying to make Telangana another Tamil Nadu.

Addressing a press conference here, Satyanarayana said that Khuntia and Uttam have no powers to suspend him. “If at all anyone had to take action against me, it should be party high command. I will represent to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and explain them the situation in Telangana. Who are these leaders to suspend me… if Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi suspend me, then I will move away from the party,” Satyanarayana said.

Satyanarayana accused Uttam Kumar of colluding with the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) to defeat some Congress candidates who were not friendly to him in last elections. He alleged that Uttam Kumar Reddy had tried to defeat him in Assembly elections. “The party gave funds for the elections but none of the candidates received these funds. They have conspired to defeat me and Bhatti Vikramarka.

The people who have sold tickets are talking of taking up review meetings. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has won and started working for the State but Uttam Kumar Reddy is wasting time by taking up review meetings,” said Satyanarayana. He alleged that the Congress leaders had taken action against him because he was from a dalit family.

Sarve called Uttam Kumar Reddy as an underperformer and said that the party has not won a single election under his leadership. He said Khuntia was also of no use for the party except for coming to Hyderabad and going back. They have wasted time and money by having meetings in the hotels.

Satyanarayana supported the comments of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao that Congress leaders were idiots. He raised slogan ‘Uttam Khuntia hatao Congress bachao.’
