10% EBC quota bill against Constitution

Basheerbagh: Reservations for economical backward classes bill is against constitution, social justice and Supreme Court’s verdict, said former High Court Chief Justice and BC Commission Chairman V Ishwaraiah.  

He was speaking at a round-table on ‘Reservations for OCs and Future of BCs’ held at Press Club here on Tuesday.  

Ishwaraiah alleged that the decision was taken in view of upcoming elections to woo voters of Maratha, Gujjars and other upper caste communities. He said the bill would not stand in the Supreme Court.

BC welfare association state president Jujula Srinivas Goud opposed the bill and called for protests at district and mandal headquarters across the state. 

He warned to lay siege Parliament on Thursday.
