Tell people on need to elect Congress nominees in Lok Sabha polls
Hyderabad: All India Congress Committee (AICC) instructed the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) to explain the people of the State on the need to elect Congress candidates in big number in Parliament elections to achieve the promises made to the State in the AP Reorganisation Act.
TPCC working president Ponnam Prabhakar participated in the meeting held at New Delhi by the AICC in the absence of TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy. Seniors of AICC Ahmed Patel, AK Antony, Jairam Ramesh and Mallikarjuna Kharge participated in the meeting.
Incharge general secretary RC Khuntia and Incharge secretaries of Telangana also participated. Prabhakar said that only Congress MPs could achieve the promises being made to Telangana in the APRA as it was the party which ensured statehood to Telangana and people of Telangana should elect maximum number of Congress leaders as MPs. Though the TRS had about 11 MPs in the present Lok Sabha they failed to achieve the promises.
He said that the AICC instructed the TPCC to select the candidates for the Parliament elections at the State level. They have also directed the TPCC to publish a charge sheet on BJP for its failures.
Jan Sampark Abhiyan should be taken up in the State to inform the people about the failures of the BJP. The TPCC should prepare the party leader and workers for the Parliament poll battle.
