KCR prod to babus on training for newly-elected Sarpanches

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Friday instructed the officials concerned to organise a full-fledged training programme to the elected Sarpanches and Vice-sarpanches in the on-going village panchayat elections to provide them with a total understanding on how to shape their villages. 

The Chief Minister also said that proper orientation must also be provided to them in developing greenery in the villages and on sanitation programmes as well as a clear-cut understanding on the recently enacted Panchayat Raj Act. The copies of Panchayat Raj Act in Telugu would be sent to every Gram Panchayat, Mandal and Zilla parishad officers. The Chief Minister desired that the newly elected sarpanches should not work in a routine manner but should work hard as change agents for the integrated development of the villages.

The Chief Minister held a review meeting on the subject of imparting training to sarpanches and village panchayat secretaries with the officials here. He said that since the centre is going for Vote on Account Budget, the State is also likely to present vote on account. Full-fledged budget will be introduced only after the Lok Sabha elections. It would be possible to allocate budget to the panchayats in the full-fledged budged only. 

In between that by imparting training to the sarpanches and village panchayat secretaries they should be shaped as change agents for the integrated development of villages. Telangana Rural Development Institute, Administrative staff college of India, MCRHRD institute of Telangana and similar other organisations would provide training.
