Marri demands action on erring SEC officials
Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Election Coordination Committee chairman Marri Shashidhar Reddy on Friday demanded action on the officials who deleted names of voters during the Assembly polls. Addressing the media along with committee member G Niranjan, Shashidhar Reddy said that the Chief Electoral Officer admitted that names of lakhs of voters have been deleted.
He wanted to know from the SEC on the action taken on the officials who have indulged in the malpractices. He said that the SEC has become a tool in the hands of the ruling TRS. He criticised that the SEC has not shown sincerity in preparing the voter list. Shashidhar Reddy alleged that the SEC has played football with the voter lists. He alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has thanked the Election Commission for cooperating for the irregularities.
He said that the Chief Minister has shown the people of the country on how to murder the democracy. He said that the Congress would write letters to the political party leaders being met by the Chief Minister for formation of Federal Front on how he has murdered the democracy in the State. He said that even the Chief Election Commission office has supported the TRS and it has deleted as many as 30 lakh names of the voters from the voter list.
