Special trains and buses to meet Sankranthi rush
Hyderabad: Railway stations and bus stands are seen packed with people who are traveling to their villages on the eve of Sankranthi festival. Secunderabad Central Railway (SCR) is running some 147 special trains to various locations in Telugu states and to the neighboring states. Elaborate security arrangements were also made by the railway authorities to prevent thefts and chain snatchings.
Speaking on the occasion, SCR CPRO Rakesh Kumar said that necessary measures have been taken for safe journey. RTC too is running some 5,250 special buses to meet the festival rush. RTC Chief Manager Krishna Kanth said that people expressed satisfaction over the arrangements. Police are also monitoring railway stations and bus stations.
