Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLCs Bhoopathi Reddy and K Yadava Reddy’s future in Telangana Legislative Council will be decided in the next few days. The Council Chairman, who is looking into disqualification petition by the TRS urging action against four MLCs who switched over to the Congress before Telangana Assembly elections, has finished hearing into explanations of both sides and has kept his decision in reserve. He is expected to announce his decision on these two MLCs initially.

The decision against MLC Ramulu Naik (elected under Governor's quota) is kept pending for the time being to take further legal opinion, it is learnt. The fourth MLC in this list Konda Murali already submitted his resignation and hence no further action needs to be taken.

Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, TRS whip in Council alleged that these MLCs acted against the party's constitution by moving to the Congress for their personal benefit. According to rules, action should be taken against them, he said. Rajeshwar Reddy said that advocates from both sides presented their versions to the Council Chairman Swamy Goud. He added that the TRS submitted evidence against three MLCs, excepting Konda Murali who already resigned, to the Chairman.

“The said MLCs have been given adequate time to explain their position. Chairman has given nearly one month time to them after the TRS submitted petition to take action against them. Our demand is they should be disqualified for violating rules,” he said.
