581 contestants in race for 215 Sarpanch posts

 Vikarabad: A total of 581 candidates are contesting for 215 sarpanch posts, while 3,634 for 1,632 wards across Tandur division.

 It is known that 34 sarpanch posts and 460 wards had already been elected unanimously. The candidates are choosing myriad ways to woo the voters.

 Some are approaching community elders and youth associations and offering the accessories needed to get them voted to power.

 It is known that villagers, staying in distant places were paid traveling charges along with some amount of cash.
