A dais for youth
Warangal: Here is an opportunity for the youth aged between 18 and less than 25 years to share their ideas on how to make India better, National Social Service programme coordinator of Kakatiya University (KU) Dr Sunkari Jyothy, Youth Parliament District Nodal Officer P Shankaraiah and Nehru Yuva Kendram Youth Coordinator S Manoranjan said.
Releasing the posters ‘Be the voice of India’ here on Wednesday, Jyothy said that interested youth can participate in the district-level Youth Parliament Programme which would be organised on January 25. “The National Youth Parliament Festival is intended to encourage the youth to engage with public issues, understand the common man's point of view, form their opinions and express it in an articulate manner. It will develop and enhance decision making abilities of the lawmakers,” Jyothy said.
On the occasion, she disclosed four topics 1) Socio-economic empowerment: Inclusion of the marginalized sections, 2) Enhancing women empowerment: Beti Bachao to Sukanya Samridhi to Mudra, 3) Ensuring ‘ease of living for all citizens, and 4) Arresting corruption through zero tolerance policy from which the participants can choose.
The participants need to speak on one of these topics either in Telugu or English or Hindi for a minimum of 90 seconds to a maximum of 120 seconds. The participants will first be selected at the district level to ultimately qualify to compete at the national level. The winners at the national level will get a cash reward of Rs 2 lakh, Rs 1.50 lakh and Rs 1 lakh. For further details, the interested persons can browse https://innovate.mygov.in/youth-parliament/
