District cops gear up for PR polls 3rd phase

  Zaheerabad: The district police has made elaborate arrangements to conduct third phase of panchayat elections in a peaceful manner.

 The police identified 17 sensitive centers including four in Zaheerbad limits, three in Mogudampalli, Kohir, Jharasangam, Nyalkal and Raikode. The officials are planning for live telecast through webcasting.

Bindover cases were booked against the persons who had been involved in violent incidents in previous elections. There are 22 panchayats in Zaheerabad and Mogudampalli, 24 in Kohir, 33 in Jharasangam and 37 in Nyalkal.  A heavy police force will be beefed up at polling centers to conduct the elections peacefully.

District Panchayat Officer Anook, MPDO Srinivas Rao and EOPRD Toophran inspected election arrangements being made at MPDO office here. Nominations for the third phase of elections have begun in Jharasangam, Nyalkal, Kohir and Mogudampalli mandals. The officials received the nominations from 10 am to 5pm.
