Exodus from Congress, BJP continues

Suryapet: The joining of leaders and cadre of other parties to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi has been continuing in Suryapet assembly constituency.

On Wednesday, a huge number of leaders and cadre from the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party from Ballemla, Solipeta and Elkaram villages of Suryapet mandal and Tuljaraopet village of Chivemla mandal joined the TRS in the presence of former minister G Jagadish Reddy, at a programme held at the party office in the town.

As many as 237 members of other parties from Tuljaraopet of Chivemla mandal, 118 from Ballemla, 400 from Solipeta and 100 from Elkaram villages shifted their loyalties to the TRS. Addressing the gathering, Jagadish Reddy stated that the State had witnessed a considerable growth in the last four-and -a-half years under the TRS government and the recent Assembly results were the outcome of development activities carried out in the State by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

He called upon people of rural areas to keep the politics aside and unite for the desired development of their villages. Stating that there was not a single case of political violence in the district in the last four-and-a-half years, the former minister advised the villagers to go for unanimously-elected gram panchayats in the interest of their villages and get incentives to use for the development of their respective villages.

He reiterated that irrigation facility to every acre in the constituency would be provided in a span of one year. Rajya Sabha member B Lingaiah Yadav, Tuljaraopet Congress contesting candidate Venkateshwarlu, Ballemla village leaders Santosh Goud, Madhusudan and other local leaders were present.
