Wine shop staff robbed at gunpoint
Jangaon: Two wine shop employees were tackled and robbed Rs 6.70 lakh at gunpoint near Ramannagudem under Kodakandla mandal in Jangaon district late on Tuesday night.
According to the police, a five-member robber gang intercepted two employees of Tirumala wine shop Srinu and Ramesh who were on their way to Palakurthi on a motorcycle after closing the shop and tried to seize the cash bag.
The gang threatened the duo by firing a couple of rounds in the air and pointed the gun at them when they resisted. With no option left, the duo handed over the cash bag to the robbers.
Later, they reported the incident to their employer and police. The police registered a case and took up investigation.Warangal Commissioner of Police V Ravinder inspected the offence site on Wednesday.
The Commissioner, who formed special teams, expressed confidence that the case would be cracked at the earliest. Wardhannapet ACP Madhusudhan and Palakurthy Inspector Ramesh Naik were present with the Commissioner.
