Don’t announce beneficiaries’ names during RD celebrations: Joint Collector Yasmin Basha

Sircilla: Joint Collector Yasmin Basha on Thursday ordered the officials concerned not to announce the names of beneficiaries along with new schemes during Republic Day celebrations as the Model code of Conduct is being implemented across the district in view of the ensuing panchayat elections.

She held a review meeting with district officials to discuss the arrangements for celebrating Republic Day on January 26 on a grand note, here at the Collectorate conference hall.

Speaking on the occasion, the JC ordered the officials to display tableaux designed with various kinds of developmental activities and welfare schemes that are being implemented by the State government, during the celebrations and also to establish stalls.

The officials were directed to take all necessary steps for providing safe drinking water, seating arrangements for people and other delegates, who attend the celebrations, to complete sanitation works, to supply uninterrupted power, to arrange perfect mike sets, ambulance and fire engines.

Prepare progress report of various departments and submit them in the DPRO office by January 19 along with list of best employees’ names of various departments by January 20.

The JC ordered the Public Relation Officer to prepare a speech stating various developmental works that were taken up and welfare schemes introduced by the government to inform the public.

Make arrangements for conducting cultural activities related to patriotism with the students belonging to both private and government educational institutions, she told. 

All the officials of various departments must attend the Republic Day celebrations and At-Home programme without fail. As the Model code of Conduct is being implemented across the district, she told them not to announce names of beneficiaries of various units that are sanctioned by the government.

District Revenue Officer Bhimya Nayak, Rural Development Officer T Srinivas Nayak, DSP Venkata Ramana, Municipal Commissioner Ramana Chary, DRDO B Ravinder were present in the meeting.
