Ensure smooth run of GP polls: Collector

Vikarabad: District Collector Syed Omer Jaleel advised the election officers and staff to work with coordination to conduct the GP elections with transparency. He was addressing a training programme on panchayat elections at Ambedkar Bhavan here on Thursday.

 The Collector asked the officials to work in accordance with new panchayat raj act 2018.  He advised the officials concerned over verifying ballot papers and appointment of polling agents. 

Omer asked the officials to show ballot box to candidates before polling commences. Clarify their doubts with zonal and returning officers, he asked officials.  Jaleel advised them to start counting beginning with postal ballots.
  
The Collector asked the officials to conduct vice sarpanch election with transparency.  District Panchayat Officer Narayana Rao replied to questions posed by the election staff. 
Joint collector Aruna Kumari, DRDA officer Johnson, DPO Narayana Rao, DRO Motilal, MPDOs, election officers, staff and others were present.
