LB Nagar flyover to be ready soon
LB Nagar: The GHMC is gearing up for opening of a new flyover at LB Nagar Cross Roads by February, keeping in view the hardships of commuters. It is learned that the repairing works are going on. The flyover has been constructed as part of the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP).
Traffic problems will be resolved in the area, once the flyover is opened. The flyover will, especially, end the hardships of commuters who take Dilsukhnagar and Hayatnagar route. The works are going on a war-footing basis as GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore is monitoring the works at regular intervals.
He wants to make it ready by the month-end. A total of Rs 42.7 crore has been sanctioned for the construction. The flyover will be constructed for a length of 780 meters and have 12-meters width.
As many as 8,916 vehicles pass through the route every hour as Metro services were launched. The officials estimate that a total of 21,990 vehicles (per hour) may pass through the route by 2034.
The state government has sanctioned Rs 2,631 crore to lay world-class roads and reduce traffic problems in Hyderabad. The GHMC, as part of SRDP, has decided to construct flyovers and bridges in five stages.
