Congress will corner govt from next session
Hyderabad: Leader of Opposition in Assembly Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday said the Congress would strongly question the government in the House from the next session.
Addressing the media, he said that as the first session of the second Assembly has been held as a formality, the Congress has not pressed the government on various issues.
He said even though Rs one lakh crore has been spent on irrigation projects even one acre of land is not provided with water. He said that comprehensive audit was needed on the expenditure on irrigation projects.
He said that the Chief Minister is feeling himself as a designer of irrigation projects taken up with a cost of Rs 2.5 lakh crore and left the people wondering about the role of the engineers.
He said that if required Congress would take technical experts to the project sites to check the expenditure. Vikramarka made it clear every paisa has to be spent judiciously and public money should not be wasted.
He said that people have elected Congress MLAs to work as watchmen on the government activities. He said that Congress MLAs would select the subject of their choice and speak on them in the Assembly.
He said that it was ironical that no discussion had taken place on the issues of the people since two years in the Assembly. Vikramarka demanded that the government should run Assembly as many days as possible. He said that the meeting of the Congress Legislature Party would be held for every 15 days.
