Update: 2019-01-21 07:01 IST

Hyderabad: The executive meeting of All India Judges Association (AIJA) held here on Sunday discussed on the issue of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) slapping disproportionate assets cases against LB Nagar court judge Vaidya Vara Prasad. And, it has decided to submit a representation to the Chief Justices of the Supreme Court and Telangana State High Court giving its view.

Judge Prasad issue had come up against the backdrop of the committee discussing growing incidents against the lower court judges across the country. Stressing on a need to address such issues in all seriousness the committee has decided to take up the same at the appropriate level.

The meeting was attended by AIJA president Justice Rajendra Prasad, working president Dr V N Shah, General Secretary R D Singh and others. Basing on the various documents before it, the committee had decided that there is no merit on the allegations against the former judge, who was also the president of the TS Judges Association.

It was against this backdrop that the AIJA has decided to submit two separate representations, one to the CJ of the Apex court and another to the CJ of the State High Court.

When asked AIJA member R D Singh said, the investigating agencies do their job according to their mandate. But, prima facia, based on the documents placed before us, it was decided to submit a representation, he added.
