Karimnagar Collector to receive award for successful implementation of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao

Karimnagar: For the first time since the implementation of the Centre's ambitious 'Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao' (BBBP) scheme, Karimnagar will be awarded for its exemplary performance towards protection, welfare and education of girl children.

District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed was selected for 'Effective Community Engagement Award' for implementing Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao scheme successfully in the district.

A total of 25 districts from across the country have been selected under this category for the national awards. Karimnagar was selected under this category and the Central government will felicitate District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed at a programme, to be held at Pravasa Bharatiya Kendra in Delhi on January 24 on, the occasion of National Girl Child Day.

The Ministry of Women and Child Welfare Development congratulated Karimnagar district as it has been selected out of the 25 districts to be felicitated and recognised for its good performance on BBBP in the category of effective community engagement. The district officials met the Collector at his chamber at the Collectorate here on Monday and congratulated him.

Joint Collector JV Shyam Prasad Lal, DRO Bikshu Nayak, Revenue Divisional Officer Anand Kumar, Deputy Director of Information Department N Venkateshwar Rao, District Marketing Officer Padmavathi, Additional Director of Textile Industry Venkatesham, DRDA Venkateshwar Rao and District Agriculture Officer V Sridhar were present along with others.
