Telugu sweetest language in world
Narsingi: The National General Secretary of BJP, Muralidhar Rao, who is also founder-president of Telugu Sangamam, has said that Telugu is the sweetest language in the world.Addressing the gathering at Sankranti Sammelan, organised by the Narsingi unit of the Sammelan in Gandipet mandal on Monday, he said that the programme was organised with a view to achieve harmony and unanimity among the Telugu states.
Head of Tapovan Peetham Swamy Sachidananda Saraswathy, Avadhani Dr Madugula Nagaphani Sarma, film director K Raghavendra Rao, actress of yesteryears Jamuna, MP Bandaru Dattatreya, State BJP president Dr K Laxman, State party leader N Indrasena Reddy, former State Minister Babu Mohan, ex-DGP Dinesh Reddy, actress Kavitha and director Gopal attended the programme.
Dr Sarma dwelt at length through poetry about the greatness of Telugu language. He praised the sammelan for conducting the programme.Raghavendra Rao said holding of such programmes in connection with Sankranti festival helped drive home the message that Telugus were united despite the formation of the two States. He pledged to always cooperate with such events.
Jamuna was honoured with a lifetime achievement award on the occasion. Nagaphani Sharma was felicitated. Several cultural troupes presented various programmes that were well received by the audience. The gathering was treated to a wide variety of tasty food preparations that are usually made in connection with Sankranthi festival. ‘Gandireddulu’, kites and Rangoli also caught the eye of the gathering.
