Tankbund: The Telangana Greater Hyderabad Municipal Employees’ Union on Wednesday represented to GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore seeking scrapping of the agreement with Ramky and solutions to various problems of the employees and workers.

In the representation, K Balakrishna, president of the union, pointed out that many employees and workers of the GHMC transport wing were in the danger of losing their jobs if the agreement with Ramky was continued. He wanted the agreement to be done away with for protecting the GHMC identity and avoid extra expenditure. Instead, the representation demanded total modernisation of the transport stations and parking yards, besides purchase of new vehicles.

The representation alleged that several pleas to cancel the transfer of sanitary jawans to the Vigilance wing and their repatriation to the parent department were ignored by officials. It wanted GHMC officials to consider the pleas at least now.

The union informed the GHMC chief that the promoted senior/junior/record assistants have been working in the posts for long, without being given new postings. It demanded immediate orders to give the assistants new postings.
