Lay new pipeline in Friends Colony: MLA
Musheerabad: Local MLA Muta Gopal on Thursday directed officials concerned to lay a new water pipeline in Friends Colony to replace the old one, which is resulting in contamination.The legislator undertook a tour of the colony following complaints by the residents over polluted water being supplied. Immediately, he directed officials to take steps for putting in place a new pipeline.
Gopal told the officials that they should get in touch with him if permission to dig road for laying the pipeline or other issues arise, while asking them to complete the task at the earliest.Women residing in the colony showed to the legislator several bottles containing polluted water. Gopal informed them that a plan to find a permanent solution to solve the drainage and drinking water problems in the Musheerabad constituency was being evolved. It would take some time to be implemented.
He said water contamination was being caused by the leaking old pipeline and that it required huge funds to be replaced. The plan would be taken forward after holding discussions with both officials of the department concerned and the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board.Among those who accompanied the MLA were HMWS&SB official Akhim Hymad, TRS leaders Moses, Raju, local party women activist.
