Officials told to clear hyacinth from tank

Nagole: Responding to a news item published in The Hans India, local corporator Cheruku Sangeetha Prasanth Goud, along with entomology staff, inspected Nagole tank here on Thursday. She advised officials to initiate action in removing hyacinth from the tank. She said that pipeline works surrounding the tank was completed to prevent entering of sewerage. 

 The corporator advised them to start removal of hyacinth in coming summer. She appealed to the people residing in the adjoining colonies of the tank not to pollute the tank with garbage and debris from building construction. She also cautioned them of mosquito menace and asked them of taking responsibility of protecting the lake. 

She recalled days when the tank was the main source for both irrigation and drinking water purpose. Sangeetha said that they were going to put a proposal to the authorities concerned for the beautification of Nagole tank. Assistant Engineer Prasad was also present.
