Curtains come down on Hyderabad Literary Festival
Hyderabad: The last day of the three-day Hyderabad Literary Festival concluded here on Sunday amidst mild showers. Poetry rendering, screening of a French silent film, workshop on clay and Chinese calligraphy, standup comedy, impromptu dances and flash mobs and intriguing sessions on a wide array of topics was witnessed.
VK Raghunandan, a research scholar from Osmania University, said, “I always wanted to hear Gurcharan Das. The HLF made it possible.” Likewise, Meena Kapoor, an ardent fan of Shabana Azmi, said, “I watched Arth several times. Seeing and hearing Shabana from such close quarters was incredible. I also started appreciating her father’s poetry and now cannot wait to read more. The HLF was worth it this time.”
The three-day fest also provided an opportunity for youngsters to unwind and show their talent. Mehreen, a B.Com student said, “We rarely get an opportunity and the Hyderabad Public School was so apt with its vast spaces. We could express ourselves without any inhibition.”
