Gitanjali rendered in Kuchipudi dance

Shiparamam & Nrutya Kinnera Jointly presented Ravindranath Tagore’s ‘Geethanjali’ through Kuchipudi Dance Ballet. Gitanjali is the crest-jewel of the poetical works of the Nobel Laureate, Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. It won a great name among literary circles and general readers for the serenity of thought, spiritual fervour and patriotic emotion.

As a mark of dedication to the memory of the great poet, Nrutya Kinnera, the premier Kuchipudi Dance Institute of Hyderabad in association with Shilparamam  has taken up the presentation of a Musical Dance Ballet based on Gitanjali of Tagore and the attempt was a great success. 
The original lyrics in Bengali and in English by Tagore were written in Telugu by the popular poet Dr Rallabandi Kavitaprasad and choreography and direction was done by the renowned Kuchipudi exponent, performer, Guru and Hamsa Awardee Dr Maddali Usha Gayatri. 

The Ballet starts with a patriotic item that reflects the fundamental unity of India under the tri-colour flag (Janda okkate moodu vannelu). The popular poems of Gitanjali such as “Where the Mind is Without Fear” are taken for translation and presentation in a scintillating form. The Musical Dance Ballet Gitanjali leaves an everlasting imprint in the minds of the viewers, of the great thoughts of Tagore through the melodious Telugu lyrics put in the captivating Kuchipudi Musical Dance Ballet form.
