Chevella: The third batch of ‘Amrutha Ahaaram’ was inaugurated by Dr GBK Rao, CMD at Pragati Resorts, at the resorts here on Thursday. Dr Sarala Khadar, a degree holder of Bachelors of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS), will guide and mentor the participants of the program for all the 7 days.Addressing the registered members, Dr GBK Rao said, "Be your own doctor. Your health is in your hands." By taking a healthy diet, one can be away from diseases, he added.

Manasa (Millets), Vacha (Herbal Decoctions), Karmana (wooden cold-pressed oils), and Palm Jaggery influence and determine one's trikarana shuddhi, siddhi and buddhi. By taking Dr Khadar Vali's healthy diet, as per the healthy condition (and even those who are healthy) one could lead a healthy, happy, joyful and peaceful life, he said.Dr Rao elaborated on the treasures of the sacred herbal and medicinal plants and heritage cows at Pragati Resorts. Not all the herbal plants at Pragati were prescribed by Dr Khadar Vali for herbal decoctions, due to their scant availability, and to protect them from extinction.

He read out a list of herbal plants: Punarnava, Kalpavruksham, Ranapala, Sadaapaaku, Madhuka, Ippapuvvu, Brahmakamalam, Brahmakumari, Ganuga, Insulin plant, Parijatham, Vepa, and lavanga tulasi. He then explained the benefits and features of all the herbal plants. Dr Rao said that only when one takes herbal decoctions with pure heart and mind that the decoctions show their complete effect.

Prasad Madanapalle of Prakruthi Vanam explained about our present lifestyle, and how our sahaja jeevana vidhanam has led to neglect of our health. Our society standards promote bottled water, refined oils, plastics, pesticide and chemicals filled foods and hormone-injected milk. This artificial lifestyle has to end and natural lifestyle needs to be adopted, he said. Living in a village environment in a thatched hut is far healthy than living in multi-storied buildings where no two family members know their food habits, nor have time to interact with each other personally, he added.

Dr Sridhar MD Ayurveda Specialist walked down the memory lane and narrated his experiences about the registered members of the first and the second batches of Amrutha Ahaaram. Good response for the third batch means that the members of previous batches went back and created awareness in their neighbourhoods and communities about the benefits of health diet of Dr Khadar Vali and Pragati Amrutha Ahaaram, Dr Sridhar said.

Dr Rama Rao, a senior plant scientist at Pragati Resorts, summed up the session by saying "Arogyame Maha Bhagyam.” “When there are trees and cows all around us, then our health is assured,” he added.
