BC Maha Dharna in Delhi on Feb 11-13
Musheerabad: The State Backward Classes Welfare Association will organise ‘maha dharnas’ at Jantar- Mantar, New Delhi, on February 11,12 and 13, demanding, among others, scrapping of reservations for the poor among the high castes, said president Jajula Srinivas Goud on Thursday.
Addressing the media, after releasing a poster on the dharna at the association’s Domalguda office, Goud stated that BCs from 29 states would take part in the protest.
He said among the participants would be MPs of RJD, DMK, MIM, Aam Admi Party, son of BP Mandal, besides former HC judge Eshwaraiyya.Goud listed other demands including a special ministry for BCs, reservations for BC in promotions and quota in legislatures. He said as this would be the last session of the Lok Sabha before the general elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi should devote attention to the demands of BCs.
He appealed to BCs to participate in the maha dharna in large numbers without considering their political affiliations. Among those present at the press meet were Bandi Yadagiri Mudiraj, Vikram Goud, K Srinivas, K Shyam Kuruma, I Srinivas Goud, Shekhar, Bhaskar Meru and Raju.
