BJP says budget is growth-oriented
Hyderabad: Telangana BJP on Friday welcomed the Union Budget presented by Union Minister for Finance Piyush Goel. Addressing media here, State BJP president K Laxman said the Union Budget reflected its commitment in implementing the 10-point formula for the development of the country and welfare of the people.
Terming increase in the income tax limit to Rs 5 lakh a daring step, he said, the contours of the budgetary allocations reflected the NDA government’s commitment to reduce economic inequalities and achieve its goal of ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas.’
The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi would help farmers with less than five acres of landholdings to get Rs 6,000 under the Direct Benefit Scheme (DBS). However, he demanded that the State government to implement its own Rythu Bandhu Scheme (RBS), besides the Center’s DBS scheme. He said that various efforts taken by the Centre are meant to double the income of the farmers by 2020.
