KCR wants poll promises in budget

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday instructed the officials to prepare interim budget aiming to fulfil the promises made by TRS in the just-concluded Assembly elections. He wanted sufficient funds should be earmarked for the construction of irrigation projects.

The chief minister made a few suggestions to the officials of the state Finance department in preparation of the budget which includes fulfilment of the assurances given by his party mainly the hike in pensions. He asked the officials to ensure no shortage of funds since the project works are going on fast pace and complete them before the deadline. 

KCR also wanted allocation of funds based on the government priorities set in the new financial year. Chief Secretary SK Joshi and Finance Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao and others were present in the meeting at Pragati Bhavan.
