MLA flags off walkathon for fuel conservation

Kapra: Uppal legislator Bethi Subhash Reddy on Sunday flagged off walkathon from ECIL Junction to NSIC as part of fuel conservation week. Addressing a gathering, he said that as the population was increasing rapidly it was everybody’s responsibility to conserve the fuel for future generations. Bethireddy said that as the income of the all sections witnessed a considerable growth, almost several households in the city were maintaining either two numbers of two-wheelers or one four-wheeler.

Even the families with three to four members preferred to own more vehicles, he observed. The MLA said that it was unfortunate that very few people were showing interest in car pooling, whereas developed countries made it mandatory to support fuel conservation.  He appealed to people to switch off their vehicles during red signal at traffic junction points in the city. 

Corporator P Pavani Reddy, former corporator Kotha Rama Rao, Bhavani Nagar Colony former president Kotha Anji Reddy, GAIL INDIA DGM  P Ramakrishna, NSIC DGM Bhoga Vishnu Murthy, GAIL Zonal DGM Sanjay Shinde, manager Ravinder Reddy, representatives of various oil companies JL Naik, Madhu, Surender Reddy, Rajesh Naik and B Sanjay Kumar were present.
