Karimnagar: The TRS government is committed to the welfare of the farming sector, said TRS working president K T Rama Rao here on Monday. K T Rama Rao inspected the tunnel and surgical pump house works of Kaleshwaram Project that are under progress here at Malkapet village of Konaraopet mandal in Rajanna Siricilla district.
Speaking on the occasion, K T Rama Rao said that to bring happiness in the lives of farmers, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao introduced many irrigation projects such as Kaleshwarm and Palamuru Lift Irrigation and other projects and the works regarding those projects are going at a brisk pace.
The government not only giving compensation to the farmers who lost their fields under irrigation projects but also continuing the works without any delay for supplying water to around 1.20 crore of acres of land for two crops.
Appreciating the engineers, K T Rama Rao said that the engineers are striving hard to complete the projects within the prescribed time limit by crossing all hurdles. Especially those of Kaleshwaram project, the engineers are working like engineers of China and other countries and completed about 90 per cent of works on war footing.
The minor irrigation projects that are taken up in the united Andhra Pradesh had been neglected by then ruling governments. The TRS government is trying to renovate such projects so that lakes and tanks which are linked and associated to such projects can flourish with water.
