Surmandal celebrates golden jubilee year 2019, as a part of the celebration Surmandal tributes to the legends of Hindustani Classical Music, Annapurna Devi and PT VG Jog. 'Surmandal' was born in 1969 becoming a great platform for artistes and providing moments to be cherished for countless music lovers. The first concert of ‘Surmandal’ featured the legendary Pt Bhimsen Joshi and was a truly auspicious beginning. 

The second one in 1970 featured a young girl from Assam. Indradeep Ghosh, young violinist of India and a torch bearer of Seni – Maihar gharana, will play violin.  Indradeep was initiated in the art of playing Violin at his tender age of six under the able guidance of Sri Anamitra Mustafi.

Pandit Ronu Majumdar India’s ace flautist needs no introduction to music lovers all over the globe. By virtue of his phenomenal talent, he and the Bansuri are literally synonymous, he will play flute and they will be accompanied by Pandit Ramdas Palsule on Tabla.
