Joint Collector GV Shyam Prasad Lal inspects Ujwala Park development works

Karimnagar: Ujwala Park, located on the outskirts of the city, is being modernised so that people, along with their families, could spend their free time happily, informed Joint Collector GV Shyam Prasad Lal.

He inspected the progress of development and modernisation works of the Ujwala Park, taken up by District Tourism Department in Karimnagar on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, the JC said the entry fee to the park was reduced to Rs 20 for adults and Rs 10 for children to make the access less burden to common and middle-class people. The park will be kept open from 9 am to 6 pm. All necessary steps were taken to prevent anti-social activities in and around the park by improving security arrangements so that people can spend happily in the park.

About 80 per cent of development and modernisation works have been completed till date and the remaining works would be completed within a month. Musical fountain, deccan boat, speed boat and jet skies were arranged along with various kinds of playing materials for children and various kinds of colourful flower saplings were planted in the park.

Necessary steps were also taken for setting up of AC and non-AC canteens in the park, which will supply breakfast, snacks and meals to the visitors. 

The Jagannatha Swamy temple present in the park is also modernised, facilitating the visitors to offer prayers to the Lord. Installation works of lighting system and CCTV cameras were already completed in the park. Provision was made for schools, both government and private, to arrange picnics for their students in the park. District Tourism Officer Venkateswhar Rao and park staff were present along with others.
