Now farmers can have meal for 5 at agri market

 Warangal: Farmers visiting Kesamudram Agriculture Market can now have meals for just Rs 5 thanks to initiative of the State Marketing Department and Hare Krishna Foundation

Mahabubabad District Collector Ch Shiva Lingaiah and MLA B Shankar Naik who launched the Saddi Muta (tiffin box)programme at the market yard here on Friday said that the initiative is a boon for the farmers who have to wait in the market yard hours together. Around 500 farmers visit the market yard every day, according officials.  It’s learnt that the Marketing Department bears Rs 20.50 per each meal and the farmers have to pay Rs 5 to get a plate meal. The meal includes 400 grams of rice, sambar, chutney and dal curry. 

Shiva Lingaiah said that Saddi Muta is one of those programmes initiated by the State government for the welfare of the farmers. He told the farmers to utilise the facility. Shankar Naik said that the market which is offering e-nam services will soon get all the facilities necessary for the farmers. Later, the Collector and the MLA tasted the meals along with farmers.

In another development, a two-bedded medical centre and a quality assessment laboratory were also inaugurated in the town.
