TRS submits bolder version of car symbol to ECI

Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) submitted a changed version of party symbol 'Car' in bold to the Election Commission for incorporating it in the ballot paper for the coming Lok Sabha Elections. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao during his visit to New Delhi in December met the Election Commission of India authorities and brought to its notice about the identical symbols to that of TRS party's car symbol, which affected the party in the recent Assembly elections.

The Election Commission authorities asked the TRS leaders to suggest changes in the symbol on January 7. The TRS leaders gave the new design of the symbol, which has boldness with clarity.  Talking to media, TRS MP B Vinod Kumar said that the votes of TRS decreased because of the identical symbols to that of the Car symbol. He said that the Samajwadi Forward Block was allocated symbol of Truck, which was identical to Car. 

The opposition parties tried conspiracies by having the identical symbol and also identical names to that of the TRS candidates. Because of this TRS candidates had to face defeat in some constituencies. "The car symbol also was not clear in the ballot paper and even I had to check it cautiously because of darkness in the polling station. We urged the ECI to ensure the symbol is visible to the voters. They asked us how that should be. We gave redesigned symbol and wanted it to be bold. This symbol should be clear on the ballot paper," said Vinod Kumar.
