Plans afoot to make Jogulamba temple a leading heritage tourism hub in India

 Gadwal: The State government is soon planning to develop the Jogulamba temple in the district into a leading heritage tourism hub of the country and is planning to attract tourists and large number of pilgrims from across the country.
 
As already Jogulamba temple in Alampur mandal of the district is renowned as the 8th Shakthi Peetham in India and a large number of pilgrims come to this temple to offer prayers from various States from across the country, now the State government and the district administration is planning to do a complete makeover of the temple to make it a leading heritage tourism destination in the country.
 
As part of this, the district administration of Jogulamba-Gadwal in coordination with the State Tourism department is charting out plans to provide much better facilities and encourage heritage tourism.
 
Recently, Alampur MLA VM Abraham along with District Collector K Shashank reviewed a draft plan proposed by the Tourism department and after careful review, they had decided to add some more development components before it is sent to the central tourism ministry in New Delhi.

Once this project is approved of by the Central government, the district administration is expecting to get about Rs 50 crore for the implementation of the proposed development activities at the Jogulamba temple. 

“Jogulamba Alampur temple is a historical and heritage structure which is attracting large number of pilgrims from across the country. Not just from India, even foreigners are coming here to view the heritage and this leading popular temple. In view of this, we have planned to make this popular temple into a leading tourism and pilgrimage hub in the district,” said Abraham.
