Tribals launch hunger strike seeking podu land pattas

Kothagudem: The members of Adivasi Kondareddys Sangham on Sunday started a 48-hour hunger strike at the market centre of the temple town seeking poduland pattas. The protest was led by the   Sangam honourable president Murla Ramesh. Speaking on the occasion, he said the government was neglecting the issues of tribal farmers in the State.
    
Though the Chief Minster had promised many a times regarding the issue of pattas for podu lands, the matter still lies in the state of stagnation. 
The adivasi people have been faced due to lack of proper pattas for the podu lands and they are there by unable to avail the benefits of Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima schemes. 

He appealed to the government to hand over the podu land pattas immediately to the tribals, lest they would stage protests in front of the ITDA and all revenue offices in the agency mandals. 

Several leaders of the Sangham CH Sriram Murthy, M Nehru, CH Kommi Reddy, B Nagi Reddy, U Durga Reddy, N Soma Raju, Lacchi Reddy, U Nagi Reddy, Ch Raji Reddy and M Uma Devi, and others took part in the hunger strike.
