The art of botanical drawings on display
Forests and Gardens of South India: A Cleghorn Collection of Botanical Drawings’ – an exhibition held at Goethe Zentrumn was presented by Dakshina Chitra Museum. The exhibition contained reproductions of watercolour drawings in the collection of the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh.
The text and captions are by Dr Henry Noltie who curated the first showing of the drawings in Edinburgh in 2010.It was a fantastic, informative, professional and knowledge disseminating session where the audience largely consisted of scholars, readers and tree-lovers from all across Hyderabad.
Present were Henry Noltie, who gave the key note address, Uzramma, who gave a small presentation of botanical inspirations for her fabric Malkha, Aasheesh Pittie, Aloka Parashar Sen, Kobita Dass Kohli, Sadhana Ramachandar, Nandini Rao, Sita Reddy and other prominent biologists.
