GHMC to develop 25 major parks in city
Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner has stated that at least 25 major parks would be developed in the Greater Hyderabad. The GHMC standing committee meeting, presided by the city Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, that was held recently passed a resolution in this regard. In continuation to this resolution, GHMC commissioner instructed zonal commissioners to identify the land parcels of more than 5 acres in Greater Hyderabad. As part of this initiative, GHMC commissioner along with chief city planner Devender Reddy, Khairatabad zonal commissioner Musharaf Ali and other higher officials visited Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills and other areas on Monday to examine the suitable areas for developing major parks. He inspected the lands suitable for developing parks from Road no 11 to Road no 36.
Dana Kishore said that he had already instructed zonal commissioners to identify suitable lands for developing new parks and submit proposals. The proposals for the parks would include the estimated cost and park plan, he said. He said that at least five major parks would be developed in each zone of the city. He stated that the new parks would be referred as Haritha Haram parks. Parks were being planned to provide lung spaces in the city and create better living conditions in the city, he said. He ordered engineers to expedite the road widening works of Road no 11 and complete it at the earliest.
